Last post from Saint Julian

It was a great experience for me, both for my professional life and for the opportunity I was given to meet nice colleagues from Belgium, Poland, Spain and my Italian ones of course! A special thanks to our patient and friendly teacher Mario.

Food

Wherever we had been, food was excellent.

We highly recommend the delicious fish soup we tasted in the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, or the Maltese rabbit, a traditional national dish

Cities

We have visited Valletta, the current capital city of Malta

Valletta is the capital city of MaltaThe city takes his name and was called La Valletta  from the victorious Grand Master, Jean de la Valette.
Valletta contains buildings from the 16th century onwards, built during the rule of the Order of St. John also known as Knights Hospitaller.
The city is essentially Baroque in character, with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical and Modern architecture.  The City of Valletta is  recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Visit to Mdina, the old capital of Malta.

Mdina is a fortified city. The city was founded by Phoenician settlers  around the 8th century BC, and was later renamed Melite by the Romans.

It is situated along the coast, north of the country's capital, Valletta.
The town is named after its patron saint Saint Julian.

Trip to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk

This trip was a very relaxing one. Nice view on the bay and the harbour with the coloured traditional Maltese boats called luzzu
